This one skillet pasta recipe is quick, easy, healthy and economical.

Ingredients:

1 lb. pork sausage
1 diced green bell pepper
1 diced red bell pepper
2 cups dried Organic elbow macaroni
18 oz. marinara sauce
18 oz water
1/3 cup half and half
1/3 cup grated mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese

Directions:

  • In a large cast iron skillet cook sausage until done.  Use medium heat.  Drain off fat.
  • Add bell peppers, macaroni, water and marinara sauce.  Bring to boil, cover and simmer until macaroni is al dente, about 15 or 20 minutes.
  • Add half and half, cheeses and stir well.  Cover and let sit until cheese melts.
  • Serve

Note: We use an Induction Cooktop

in our videos for placement purposes and have found we love the fast cooking times and even heating.  Induction burners require either Stainless Steel or Cast-Iron Cookware to work.

* We stress using organic macaroni as we have learned that wheat crops in the United States may be much more heavily doused with pesticides several times during the growth cycle.  Wheat crops are also the crop most frequently “fertilized” with “biosolids” which is sewage sludge shipped to farms from major cities.  Unlike animal manure used as fertilizer, sewage sludge contains concentrates of anything dumped into the municipal sewage system: paint thinner, medical wastes, motor oil, paint, cosmetics, cleaning products, bleach, etc.  While choosing organic with any food is a healthier choice, with wheat crops it may be particularly important. Using organic macaroni in this recipe increased the cost by only 50 cents.

Here at Healthy with Danny from San Jose, CA and Beyond, we're all about responsibly enjoying, brewing, sharing and promoting delicious craft beers and the Independent craft breweries and homebrewers that brew them. We're about community, diversity, inclusion and celebrating what makes craft beer awesome. And we're about education, learning and advocacy. Maybe converting too ;) Generally being responsible, fun loving and positive. It's also about transparency, being honest, genuine, authentic and true.

But when shit goes down and it's downright wrong. When craft beer and everything that makes it great is co-opted by Global entities in the name of trying to still look relevant and trying to be hip, I always believe in calling BS out, telling it like it is, holding things to account and boycotting. Especially when it comes to jackin' brands of non-willing participants in greasy Megacorporate schemes. It creates division too. It's not cool.
No control/no monitoring/no accountability. Honestly, it upsets me.

I will always be honest and true, especially when the evidence is there.

Cheers !
